Rare UV-reactive Hackmanite crystal with Albite. The blue/purple Hackmanite is UV reactive and glows bright pink/orange under a UV light. Weight 54.48g. Comes in a specimen box. Sourced from Badakhshan, Pakistan.
Hackmanite is UV fluorescent and it also has a unique property called Tenebrescence whereby it can temporarily change colour when exposed to sunlight and UV light. When exposed to UV short wave light, parts of Hackmanite will turn a shade of pink/purple. When exposed to normal sunlight/white light, it will revert back to its 'natural' shade of white/yellow. This can be an instant change or prolonged change depending on the mineral content in the Hackmanite and each colour reaction is different.
