This is an exquisite lens of Quartz with a rare 'blue needle' inclusion of Dumortierite needle crystals (as shown in the backlit photos), also with excellent clarity and golden iron inclusions of 'Garden', that has been reverse 'Intaglio' carved with a stylized nine-tailed fox on a rock.
Intaglio carving is the process of etching out a design from the rear, so it can be viewed as a 3D picture from the front. This process is done by hand by master carvers and is a painstakingly long process to complete each individual masterpiece.
