This is a rare evaporative salt mineral from Lake Searles, Southern California. The unique pink colour comes from microscopic fauna that thrives on the high salinity of the lake bed. It is a rare occurence and unique to this location. This specimen sits on a layer of Trona, another evaporative salt mineral. It is approx. 9cm x 7cm x 7cm.
